Step-by-step Nutmeg Syrup Recipe. There are two types of Nutmeg drink in Penang, one is white in color and the other one is in red. The red one is made from nutmeg syrup whilst the white one is made from fresh nutmeg fruits. A cup of warm nutmeg drink is one of the easiest and best cough remedies at home.

Ingredients
1kg nutmeg
600g white rock sugar
Instructions
Wash nutmeg. Cut nutmeg in half. Remove the seed. Cut the nutmeg into slices.
Layer the white rock sugar and nutmeg slices in a slow cooker and cook (auto setting) for 6 hours. Store the syrup in glass container. Dilute the syrup accordingly to make refreshing nutmeg drinks. The residue can be eaten straight away as preserve. Store in refrigerator.
