How to make Banana Fritters? Fried banana ball, also known as “Cekodok Pisang” in Malay, is a very popular snack in Malaysia. It is crispy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside.

Ingredients

Cekodok Pisang Ingredients200g banana (without skin)
70g plain flour
40g sugar
1/4 tsp fine sea salt
 
 
 
 
 

Instructions

Cekodok Pisang Step 1In a bowl, mash the banana with a fork until smooth. Add flour, sugar and salt. Mix well.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Cekodok Pisang Step 2Fill a wok or deep heavy saucepan 1-inch deep of oil and heat to 180°C, or until little bubbles form around a wooden chopstick.

Tips: If the oil is bubbling hard, it is too hot; let it cool a bit and check the temperature again.
 
 
 
 
 
Cekodok Pisang Step 3Scoop the banana mixture into the oil, in batches, making sure they have room to move and do not stick together. Fry 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove the banana fritters from the oil and place on wire rack/oil-absorbing paper to drain off any excess oil.

Note: This recipe can make about 10 fritters.
