Cekodok Pisang Recipe
How to make Banana Fritters? Fried banana ball, also known as “Cekodok Pisang” in Malay, is a very popular snack in Malaysia. It is crispy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside.
Prep Time: 5 min
Cook Time: 10 min
Total Time: 15 min
Yield: 2 servings
Ingredients
200g banana (without skin)
70g plain flour
40g sugar
1/4 tsp fine sea salt
Instructions
In a bowl, mash the banana with a fork until smooth. Add flour, sugar and salt. Mix well.
Fill a wok or deep heavy saucepan 1-inch deep of oil and heat to 180°C, or until little bubbles form around a wooden chopstick.
Tips: If the oil is bubbling hard, it is too hot; let it cool a bit and check the temperature again.
Scoop the banana mixture into the oil, in batches, making sure they have room to move and do not stick together. Fry 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove the banana fritters from the oil and place on wire rack/oil-absorbing paper to drain off any excess oil.
Note: This recipe can make about 10 fritters.
