Gâteau au Chocolat is French and it means ‘Chocolate Cake’. It is a classic French cake made with ingredients that we usually have at home. This is my favourite chocolate cake, and everyone in my family loves it.

Gâteau au Chocolat Step 2Ingredients (B)
Beat the egg white until foamy. Add the sugar in 3 times and beat until stiff peaks form. Add 1/3 of the egg white to the yolk batter and fold with a spatula until 80% done. Add another 1/3 and fold. Add another 1/3 and fold until well combined.

Gâteau au Chocolat Step 3Pour the batter into the cake tin. Tap the cake tin on table a few times to remove air bubbles. Bake in preheated oven at 160°C for 40 minutes. Leave to cool on a wire rack. Remove the cake from the cake tin. Dust some icing sugar on top.

Tips: You can also add strawberries and whipping cream on top for a better design and taste, or you can also add ice cream on each serving.
